Funds were raised to send the band to Richmond, Va., for the national festival in May. Honors won by the Sarasota Band: Division one-band drill, Erwin Gremli, clarinet: Sara Baccus, clarinetg Elva Warner, clarinetg Harriet Sturgis, clarinet, and Jack Hursey, drums: clari- net quartet no. 1. Erwin Germli, Sara Baccus, Fred Angers and Agnes Pritchard, brass sextet, Raymond Esthus, Julian Bennett, George Moore, Ben McCall, Lorne Ford and Wallace Bennett. Division two-band concert, Ann Treadwell, twirlerg Sue Mowery, twirlerg Amy Jane Routier, twirler: clarinet quartet no. 2, Harriet Sturgis, Elva Warner, Joy Philpot and Agnes Pritchard.
