The program for the year has included: Clearwater: November-Resolved that the U. S. should be empowered to over-ride 5 to 4 decisions of the Supreme Court by a 2 to 3 majority vote. Hillsborough: December-The U S. should defend itself under the Monroe Doc- trine-won third place. Tarpon Springs: January-The powers of the federal government should be in- creased-second place, extemporaneous speech. Sarasota: February-District Host-The state should have a sales tax for the sup- port of education-second in declamation. Members have appeared on radio programs of WSPB and during the last semester various intra-mural debates have been held with constant participation in extem- poraneous speech and discussion. Future Farmers of Sarasota have ten acres of land on the Myakka donated to them. These acres have been planted with small pines as a project in the study of forestry and reforestation. Three acres at the rear of the high school buildings are planted in corn and English peas. The officers of the club are: president, Ben Earnestg vice-president, Donald Hand: secretary, David Faulknerg treasurer, Maurice Combee: reporter, Orville Clemons: adviser, L. M. Johnson. A father-son banquet was, given and a team entered in the softball league. Several radio programs have been given. ISlxtyI 4
