The program for the year has included: Clearwater: November-Resolved that the U. S. should be empowered to over-ride 5 to 4 decisions of the Supreme Court by a 2 to 3 majority vote. Hillsborough: December-The U S. should defend itself under the Monroe Doc- trine-won third place. Tarpon Springs: January-The powers of the federal government should be in- creased-second place, extemporaneous speech. Sarasota: February-District Host-The state should have a sales tax for the sup- port of education-second in declamation. Members have appeared on radio programs of WSPB and during the last semester various intra-mural debates have been held with constant participation in extem- poraneous speech and discussion.
