The Sarasota High School swimming teams swam through opposition in Fort Myers May the 9th, to come out with a. good showing. There were eight lettermen from last year who helped to bring home high honors. Sarasota Sailors, boys and girls, with a combined total of 42 points, won the SFC title for swimming in the annual meet held in Fort Myers, May 9. Carol Clarke won the 50-yard dash and 100-yard free style for the girls and swam on both the relay teams. In the 50-yard backstroke for boys, Burnett Britton won firstg while Bruce Johnstone won first place in 100-yard free style for boys. Emily Parker tied for second place in the 50-yard breast strokeg Jeanne Neely tied for second place in girls' diving. The relay, four-girl teams, and the medley relay were both won by Sarasota girls: while the boys copped the medley relay and the boys' relay of 100 yards each.
