611155 ffzsirfry Upon enterrng our Freshman year rn hrgh school we chose Max Bassett to act as our presrdent Derry O Connell as our v1ce president Leslie Stow secretary and Jrm my Mast treasurer Nancy Dutton served as a reporter for the Red and Whrte Gazette our school paper In our Sophomore year Derry O Connell served as our presrdent We presented a varlety show for whrch the class supplred rts own talent Russell Gadway acted as our master of ceremonles The highlrght of the wmter season that year for us was a wmter carnrval at whrch Penny Peuo was crowned queen, and Jack layhee krng Carl Moor croft served as school reporter for our class Nancy Dutton, Max Bassett Derry O Con part rn the Student Councrl wrth Nancy sewing as treasurer Derry O Connell agam acted as president durmg our Junror year Our class instrtuted the present yearbook, THE TOMAHAWK Burt Anson was ed1tor Max Bassett and Ruth Caswell were co edrtors For a frrst at tempt our yearbook was qulte successful During our Junror year we held a dance for whrch the popular Skeeter Bonn provrded musrc but our Junror Prom surpassed all other actrvltres wrth rts theme of Stardust Penny Peno rergned as queen and Max Bas sett as k1ng Nancy Dutton, Judy Coryer Barbara LaMora Jrmmy Marshall Burt Anson and John Venne made up the court Bermce Lrght left our class for one year to lrve rn Flonda Carlton Moorcroft who had been wrth us srnce the seventh grade enlrsted rn the Navy Our Senror year started off happrly wrth the recerpt of our rrngs We were all justly proud of them and what they stood for Early rn the year we mapped our campargn of fund rarsmg for our Seruor trrp Our ma Jor pro1ecrs consrsted of dances a food sale a Senror Faculty basketball game Qwhrch we wonj sellrng campalgns for Christmas cards magazrnes and personal rzed statronery and asslstance wrth rndr vrdual school prctures Perhaps the most excitrng of all these 3CIlV1llCS was the food sale 1n whrch the four vrllages of our school drstrrct com peted for the hrghest returns The Saranac vrllage group won and was rewarded by berng entertamed at a spaghettr drnner The Student Councrl whrch had been rnactrve durrng our Iunror year was reor ganrzed and four students from our class were elected as members Derry O Connell Burt Anson, Max Bassett and Judy Coryer Derry O Connell was elected president The clrmax of our Senror year was our class tnp to New York City The class left by tram on May 28 and returned June 1 We saw all the srghts and enjoyed an all around good trme As our hxgh school years come to an end our feelrng of Joy at successful attarnment mrngles wrth regret at leavmg behrnd so many happy occasrons the pleasant mem or1es of whrch w1ll remarn w1th us for many years to come The Class of 1958 I . . . . . . . , . 1 I a S , Z . - . .
