FAREWELL TO OUR ALMA MATER With tear-filled eyes we leave thee, Though the whole world lies before, And live again our mem'ries Ere we open wide Life's door. Thy portals long have held us, Many friends we've gathered there, Years can not dim completely All the joys we used to share. . Along our chosen pathways We will journey ever higher With ideals you have taught us Near to comfort and inspire. And now farewell we bid thee, For the time to part is here, We face the future gladly, Armed with knowledge, without fear. -IEAN CIBNEY Q3

SENIOR HISTORY Although there are only a few of those shinIng faces left that started to- gether twelve long years ago, we have gradually added new ones until, as you see by the preceding pictures, our tribe is the largest in the history of our Alma Mater. Our fame has been growing gradually from a meager start to a successful climax. Our Class has not only been the backbone of the football team, and the mainstay of the track team, but it also has produced the finest Senior Play, an excellent Canaras under difficult circumstances, and the best Red and White in its history. Our Class is an exception, everyone pictures a big machine as awkward, and slow, but our class, big as it is, has maintained an excellent scholastic standing, enviable social standing, and a very strong financial standing. As you look at our pictures, you see many fine characteristics: intelligence, strength, friendliness, ambition, integrity, and perseverance portrayed to a high degree. We have discarded many degrading characteristics on the route, and on leaving school, we will aspire to even greater heights. If we conquer all future obstacles, as we have those of our school days, we shall hold noth- ing of worldly power in fear. Our Class is a true representation of the surrounding country, our stature pictures the mountains, our perseverance and ambition, the everlasting strug- gles of the brooks and rivers wearing their way down through the foothills, our friendliness pictures the animal life, our integrity and strength, the deep- ness of virgin forests, and our intelligence combines all these powers. Our remaining obstacle is to hold what we have, as our mountains have struggled to hold themselves forever a wild playground, and not a domes- ticated, man-made country. As we now depart from our dear Alma Mater, we leave our deeds of brav- ery, valor and fairness on the field, of good executive and financial ability in organizations, and of excellent scholastic standards, but far more do we carry away than we leave behind. We depart with a fine education in both school work and extra-curricular activities, which will help to equip us for facing the facts of the world. -IAMES isEi.l.ows Q4 .
