SHS has won fame throughout the nation. Its honors reflect upon the whole student body. Individuals and organizations have climbed to the top of their various fields, surpassing all competitors on local, state, and national levels. The band won a stirring ovation from conductors representing all parts of the United States. “Doc” Severinsen was guest soloist with the band at this Midwest National Band Clinic. Ed Parsons achieved recognition from the National Civil Air Patrol for his part in initiating a local unit in Sapulpa. Local queens display outstanding beauty and | ersonality, such as Beck) Hershberger, this year’s Midwinter Sports Queen. Involvement

Participation is the key factor in unity. Through each student's exerting his own talent, Sapulpa High School has developed an undefeatable unity. For one it is music. For another it is journalism. No matter what degree of activity is engaged, each tiny part contributes to the whole. The choir, under the direction of VeDon Law. demands the full efforts of all talented members. Editor Rick Woolery devotes time and talent to the publication of the l‘ou■ IP ow. The yearbook staff spends countless hours in compiling an accurate record of the year’s events into the Sai ulpan. 9
