When Oscar Hammerstein wrote these beautiful lines, he presented a lasting challenge to all generations. It is only by following our wildest dreams and reaching beyond our grasp that we can attain success and find personal satisfaction. High school with its academic, athletic, and social competition is the proving ground for life. It is here that we learn to climb our mountains. Because he has worked for and with us, because he has given generously of his time and talent—words are a poor substitute with which to express our sincere respect and admiration for this man. He is head of the Art Department, the baseball coach, and a Senior Class sponsor. He voluntarily gives much of his time in service to both the students and the community. The 1967 Sapulpan is the only tangible embodiment of the intangible — our admiration for Mr. Jack Fox. S+iff competition and keen rivalry characterized the 1966-67 Chieftain gridiron season. Close scores and last-minute touchdowns were typical of many games. In spite of their valiant efforts, the Chieftains' season was not as successful as anticipated. The Sapulpa Chieftains, members of the Magic Empire Conference, combine their individual efforts into the team spirit essential in meeting the challenge their conference presents. Highlight of the season was the Homecoming game with the Bartlesville Wildcats —a 14-8 victory for the Chiefs. Football games, cheering Chieftains on to Victory. Now all just a lovely memory, Oh, Yesterday came suddenly. Yes, we have to go, we know we cannot stay. Teachers, programs, the Senior Prom, all a part of Yesterday. Yesterday, we were sophomores winning Bundle Week, Senior rings made our next year complete, Our high school days were at their peak. Homecoming, survival school, and old Macbeth, we remember these things well. The Senior Play, the fight song, the SHS hymn, what these mean words just can't tell. Time goes on, we leave dear old SHS today, Filled with knowledge and — the Chieftain Way, And memories of Yesterday. ■ L 152 SHARON WARREN Sharon Warren was chosen valedictorian by obtaining a grade point of 4.0.
