Chaplain The Student Council is an important or- ganization in the handling of student-community and student-faculty relations. The council this year consisted of twenty- nine members from which six officers were elected. In an all-school election each spring the students elect the president and vice-president of the student council for the following year. At the beginning of the school year, each home room elects a representative to the council which gives all classes an equal representation in this body. During the summer several members at- tended the national Student Council VVork-shop which was held at the Tulsa University's cam- pus. There, the members attended classes and enjoyed recreational facilities. The council makes arrangements for many of the school events. This year it planned the homecoming parade, the coronation of the queen, the special assembly and the always popular Now or Never lVeek . To make a girl's dream week complete, a Sadie Hawkin's Nightclub Dance was held at the Youth Cen- ter. Other activities sponsored by the Student Council included the Student-Faculty Basketball Game, President's Banquet, Community Chest Drive, and Student Directories. The main project of the Student Council was to set up an Activities Recommendation which would improve and better our school's organizations and activities. Through the home rooms and their representatives, recommenda- tions were made and put into effect. Five delegates attended the state conven- tion at Ponca City and then reported to the local council about their trip. VVith the help of our two wonderful spon- sors, Miss lVIildred Fisher and Mr. B.
