Adding color and spirit to Santiago's home games are the flag twirlers and mascot, Calvin Cavalier. Performing their routines with both skill and enthusiasm the flag twirlers present a fine pepresentation of Santiago as does Mike Young in his cos- tume typical of the Cavaliers during the years of monarchy. The Cavalettes are made up of sophomore, junior, and senior girls, who try out at the end of the previous year to perform in the next year's color- ful halftime performances and activities . One of the Cavalettes outstanding performances this year was at apep as- sembly in November, where they helped to build up Cavalier spirit and enthusi- asm that helped the team to victory.
