The officials for the game were Bob Guess and Dave Hunter, and the game was sponsored by the Annual Staff. The coaches were some of the best from the boys' football team, and the girls were from the P.lf. Department. The boys drilled, exercised, ran, and even made the girls workout on holidays, trying to get them in shape in less than two weeks for the big game. The girls must have been fun to watch because there were over 200 people watching the game. Seniors were good, but not good enough for the tough juniors. Dallas l-linkle ran 30 yards to score a touchdown, and Cindy Scarbrough ran through the Senior offensive lineup to score a safety, making the final score Seniors-0, juniors-8.

FS - Th orld - y Country Peopl - Family iii!!! ,. ,iw .rw X A furwmfceve .i- S5 5' American Field Service is an organization that has been with Santana since its opening in 1965. AFS is a very worthwhile organization that has brought 14 students from several different countries. The l973-74 students were lVlielco Yamasaki from Japan and Micheal Lang from Austria. All the schools in the Grossmont School District raise money by collecting from students from countries involved in the program. After the students have arrived there are dozens of other activities for fund raising and just for fun. AFS went hand and hand with a club on campus called lnternational Club orl Club. With l Club AFS had a Halloween costume party, had a booth in Parkway Plaza on AFS day, had an international exhibit in the library. Un January 11 there was the annual AFS assembly when all the AFS students from the other schools in the District came and gave two Assemblies. Lori Crull was chosen to become an AA lAmericans Abroadl student to go to Brazil. We hope she has enjoyed her stay there. The Motto for the AFS program is 'fthe world is my country and it really fits what the program is about, because it brings people from different places and ways of life together so that prejudices and gaps in understanding can be filled with knowledge and friendship.
