Tension, Relief, Happiness, Victor , That as Suspense mounted as the announcement of the 1973-74 Homecoming Queen was about to be made. The six contestants were: Cheryl Kolesar escorted by Jim Rice, Diane Jones escorted by Tom Saska, Chris Cooper escorted by Bob Green, Karen Loveland escorted by Rick Snyder, jenny Hinkle escorted by Tod Mciaaughlin, and Mieko Yamasaki escorted by Mike Lang. The Homecoming Queen for the 1973-74 school year is: Would you believe it's one of those girls down there? She is Cheryl Kolesar! What excitement and relief Cheryl and her court felt at that moment. After all they had gone through, it was finally over. chosen. First, the girls who Wanted to run for queen had to victory. obtain petitions and have them signed by their school year is . . . C ery Kolesar! ' Homecoming counselors. This year sixty girls ran for Homecoming The vote was cast but it had to be recast because of ballot stuffing. Then the five finalists Cheryl Diane Karen, Chris and Jenny were chosen and Mleko Yamasaki was named honorary princess A final vote was taken and the Homecoming Queen Cheryl Kolesar was The queen was announced at the Homecoming game against El Cajon High School at ElCap1ran The game was a victory with the Sultans scoring a seven to six win After the game there was a dance where the queen along with her court and their escorts satin the place of honor. The band Ease provided the music This Becoming Queen Wasn't as easy as it had seemed. brought to a close, a night of suspense excitement and ll

They helped to get assemblies going the very first week of school, along with selling A.S.B. cards and shake-a-roos at games. . A.S. B. advisor was Mr. Hoy who was responsible for getting all A.S.B. activities together, but there were a few of the little people who also helped. Among them the following: Barry Swaim who is the President, he's the one with the aggressive looking face on the opposite page, Vicki Weber who was Vice Pres, Karen Loveland, Secretary, Debbie Hartpence, Comm. of Finance, Nlarilee Challberg, Comm. of Public Relations, Tracy Nlorgan, Comm. of Cultural Affairs, Christine Cooper, Comm. of Alumni, John Phipps, Comm. of Boys, Athletics, Terry Fletcher, Comm. of Girls'. Then there were Helma Leitlein, Scott Lehmam and Rochelle Brooks who were all on Comm. of Sales, and Kathy Nlorgan, Lou Anne Vvolfe, MaryC1awalis and Beth McGinley, who were on Comm. of Publicity. l fl W
