Student Council ,- H 1, 1 f STUDENT COUNCIL tBack Rowl: Mrs. Jacobs, Lynn Alvarez, Houri Khajerian, Julie Olsen, Rachel Wafer, Liz Osborne, Greg Tevis, Mr. Anders, Shelly Makela, Kim Hawk. tMiddle Rowl: Bill Hollingsworth, Helen Wright, Lynn Ionata, Diana Dovali. lFront Rowl: Danny Andberg, Kim Jensen, Harmon Kaslow, James Warwick, Mike Simpson, Dave Parker, Randy Lindros. Student Council started out the year with a dance to wel- come new and old students back to school. They they pro- gressed to painting the press box in our school colors. proudly printing Home of the Pirates on the front. They really surprised the Lutheran Home residents by giving them a Halloween party, and being the enthusiasts that they are, they dressed appropriatly tin costume of coursel. Then came Homecoming week. Wow! What a blast! This year's students were super enthusiastic when it came to class competition. Activities such as the treasure hunt, the raft racing, the float and pyramid building and the pie-eating contest really got the spirit soaring. Evidently the sophomores had a bit more spirit than the rest because they won most of the com petitions and came out ahead with the most points. The Christmas Formal, sponsored by the senior class, arrived sooner than was expected. Silva Bells was the theme and the music, by Scarab, was outstanding. Student Council created other sorts of entertainment for the student body. They offered movies such as Black Bearcl's Ghost , Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Silver Streak . Music was also played periodically during lunch for student listening pleasure. The Council organized student exchanges with other schools. The whole purpose was to find out how those schools are run, enabling us to better our school and to have greater understanding of the varying experiences of our peers. As you can see, the Student Council put a lot of time and effort into everything they did and they did it well. We just hope next year's Student Council is as good as this year's. 11 v 'X , 3 is .
