Senior A lyse Bushman Spotlight Alysc Bushman said that her senior year was her favorite, because of the many events in which she took part. Such things like the Academic Decathalon. in which she placed third in essay writing. Another event that Alyse enjoyed was the folk concert. Other activities that Alyse took part in were the D«»h Valley field trip, National Honor Society, CSF, cross country, and track. There are two teachers that I have a great feeling of respect for, Mr. Passalacqua and Mrs. Neilson. Both of these teachers have gone out of their way to help me not only with my education, but in general life. With Alyse's grade point average of 3.8 she has been accepted to Brigham Young University in Utah. Along with education, Alyse believes that religion is important, which is why she is involved with her church and the social events that are related to it. When I go to college, a part of my life will have ended. High school will be part of my past, and yet I will always stand out as a positive experience — one of the best 1 have had. This especially goes for my senior year and all the things and all the people that have made it what it has been. Mike Haggerty was a co-captain on the Academic Decathlor Team. His overall team took the respectable place of third, out o 26 high schools. Individually he took gold medals in science anc economics, silver medals in fine arts and in English. Ir mathematics, Mike was awarded third place. With his obvious in terests in science and math he has won many awards in the Eastsidi Union School District and Santa Clara County math contest. In hi senior year, not only did he have a heavy academic schedule, but hi attended San Jose State at the same time. He took two calculu classes and two physics classes. Remarkably enough he still manag ed to keep his grade point average of 4.0. Mike is also very knowledgeable in the computer field, h teaches computer programming to elementary school student! The fifth graders of San Anselmo Elementary School have th privilege of Mike's coaching in the computer field. Because he is s knowledgeable in the computer field his parents take full advan tage of his skills by having him write programs for their compute software business. Mike plans to attend Cal Berkeley and to major in Engineering The thing that I will always remember about ST is how persons the teachers and students were. 68 Seniors
