Senior Mark Palazzolo Spotlight Mark Palazzolo has been an outstanding musician. For two years in a row, he has won first place at the International Band Festival in Reno, for his skill on the electric guitar. San Jose City College gave him an award for his outstanding musicianship last year. Mark is currently involved with four bands: The Blue Starlight, Silky Sounds, Denny’s Combo, and The Randy Tyler Combo. Mark is very versatile; each group requires a different type of music such as jazz, soft rock, and the sound that he refers to as elevator music. Mark has out six demo tapes with the Randy Tyler Combo. Such songs as Girl From Impanema, Misty,” Lady, Glen Miller Medley, and Proud Mary,” Make up the tapes. The other demo record was a song the group composed themselves called Get Off It. For the past thirteen years Mark has practiced no less than two hours a day. It depends on how much homework I have. He plans to attend San Jose City College to get his two-year degree, then transfer to San Jose State. Mark's major will be Business Administration. I've had two really good years in high school — my Senior year and my Sophomore year. He also commented that Mr. Wells and Mr. Lemon both have really helped him in the music field and with his college plans. Outside music and school, I enjoy the bowling league and the church group I belong to — but most of all I enjoy time with my girlfriend. 64 Seniors Brian Verner Una Pictura Milia Verba Em.
