Boys Varsity Track This year's Saint Varsity Track team will be led by three returning Varsity Lettermen from last year's 7 and 3 team. Seniors Jim Ncwland, Brian Anthony, and Darren Posey should be steady point scorers for this year's team. Jim Ncwland will be the Saint workhorse as he will compete in the 100 and 200 meters, and in the sprint and mile relays. Brian Anthony will be our top high and low hurdler, while Darren Posey should be our most talented distance runner. Other Seniors who will help the Saints arc: Paul Crabill, Fred Linford. Andy Martinez. John Pandori, and Gerald Pneaflor. Outstanding juniors from last year's frosh-soph are Art Hoffman in the shot and discus, Ted Bettgcn in the 800 meter, Dana Meggerson in the long jump, triple jump and high jump, Ron Wilder in the sprints, and Julio Morales in the long jump and triple jump. 148 Boys' Varsity Track

Varsity Softball The 1983 Varsity Softball Team has six returning players from last year's MHAL championship team. Combining last year's experienced and talented players with this year’s youth and eagerness will continue to make this year's team a winner. Returning Varsity Players are: Stniors Trizia Hill — shortstop. Gloriann Neverve — second base, Eileen Unger — first base, out- field. Junior: Randie Hill — pitcher. Sophomore Letty Stangc — catcher, and Natalie Castro — outfield. All of these players are strong defensive players, consis- tent and aggressive batters. New players who will add to this year’l line up are Senior Callie Carpenter who fits into the defensive line up. Sophomore Cathy Ding good offensive skills, Kim Duggan — Back-up Pitcher, and Jackie Modic will fill a defensive spot and fit into the batting order. A freshman player with a lot of potential is Renee Grounds — who will be playing 3rd base and batting. Varsity Softball 147
