Tina Nicolai. Girls Frosh-Soph Basketball This year's Frosh-Soph basketball team had an overall win and loss record of 14 wins and 6 losses. The Saints finished the league with an 11-2 record. The only teams that the Saints lost to were Silver Creek and In- dependence. The game that was the most ex- citing of all was against Silver Creek, where the final score was 35-33 in a hard fought game that took three over-time periods to complete. It was a very unique game; not on- ly did the Saints go into overtime, the star- ting team all fouled out before the game was over. The Saints had to go into overtime with second and third team players who played their hearts-out against the starting five from Silver Creek. The last game of the year was the impor- tant one. The Saints had to win to be able to get into the play-offs to determine the Frosh-Soph Championship. The Saints came up short by one point, the final score was 48-47. Overall the Frosh-Soph team had an ex- cellent season with players who cared about each other and practiced hard. Outstanding players for the Saints were Yvonne Stange, Andrea Lorenz, Sisinc Toum. The Saints can look forward to another winning season next year. Returning Freshmen who have the skills to become outstanding players are Marie Orozco, Jean- nette Schultz, Tina micolai, and Diane Stewart. With this group of girls returning and in-coming freshmen the Saints will be tough! Boys' Frosh-Soph Basketball This year's frosh soph basketball team had an up and down year. After losing their first three preseason games, the team won three in a row including the consolation championship in the Piedmont Hill Christmas tourney. They lost the first three games of the league, losing by three to In- depcndance and by one to Oak Grove, before winning four out of their next six games. They concluded a successful season by avenging the earlier losses to Oak Grove and Yerba Buena. The final win-loss total was eleven wins and eleven losses.
