CALENDAR OF SCl-lOOL EVENTS SEPTEMBER 8-School opened with the Freshmen brealr- ing former enrollment number tor any incoming class. 22--Girls' League and G. A. A. combined to give a Big-and-Little Sister Punch in the gym. 23-The much-postponed student body elec- tion was held. A new torm ot student government was inducted. 24-The new student Council had their tirst otticial meeting. 25-Football season opened with a bang. We played Ventura on our tield and won our tirst League game. OCTOBER 2-A No-Date Dance was held in the gym which initiated the Freshmen to their tirst high school dance. 2-We played our second winning game ot football. Oxnard was the unlucky victim. 5-Election ot Student Body Treasurer, Sec- retary, and EI Solano Editor was held. 7-Dramatic Club members attended a radio broadcast of Showboat at the NBC Station. 8-The gym was the scene ot the hilarious annual event ot the girls' Fli-Jinlcs. I4-A noon-hour dance with the high school Swing Band turnishing the music. The swing was held tor the tirst time. 22-The Freshmen class held their jollyeup on the tootball tield. A pot-luclc supper was enjoyed by all. 22-Exchange assembly with Oxnard to pro- mote a more triendly spirit between schools. 22-Explorers' Club started by Mr. Coultas, an advanced group ot Boy Scouts ot America.
