l l11 OZPL-'Om Ulu-Nbr-I M U S I C SENIOR ORCHESTRA Linder the direction of Mr. H. Peyton Johnson, the high school orchestra has enjoyed one of the most successful years since its organ- ization. The efforts of Mr. Johnson have been rewarded by the fine results which he has produced. The senior orchestra, which was composed of thirty-six ad- vanced players, made several public appearances. lt played for the Armistice Day program. At the Festival of Arts held in April, the group presented several fine selections. lt appeared before the P.-T. A. and was so well received that it provided music for several other P.-T. A. meetings. lt also gave its annual performance at commencement exercises which was excep- tionally fine. Out of the group, ten were selected to form a small orchestra. This group of students proved to be very popular and played for the dinner of the County Board of Directors, the 291 Club dinner, and various other community gatherings. Several of these students and graduate students who were for- merly members of the school orchestra furnished the music for the senior play.
