l U1 OZPFOM UIQJCF-1 CALENDAR-Corit'd 19-The Fillmore Flashes fiashed their abilities before the Cardinals, de- feating them after a hard game. 20-Nomination speeches were in order at an assembly held in the gym. A demonstration was also given by James A. Walton. 21-A program commemorating the life of George Washington was pre- sented. 23-Our B team won the county championship after defeating Santa Bar- bara at the Ventura Junior High School gym tonight. 26-U. S. C. contributed a speaker for an assembly held in the gym. 27-David Robinson and Lucille llloore were reelected to their former stu- dent body oHices, and Forrest Fullmer became first vice-president. MARCH 6-Assembly. 9-Our relay teams made a good showing at Long Beach, winning the medley relay and taking fourth place in the sprint relay event. 12-Vernon Duncan and Barbara Sharp were awarded first and second places, respectively, in the school finals of the Toastmasters' Contest. 15-The P.-T.A. and the student body cooperated in staging a grand carnival in the gym. Concessions, dancing, drama, ping-pong, pony rides, and eats vied for attention. 20-Thatcher attempted to conquer our track team, but was successfully downed by the Cards. 21-lX'Irs. Gamage and Miss Carroll were speakers on a program for junior and senior girls in the cafeteria. 22-Cardinal track men battled their Fillmore opponents on our field. 26-Vernon Duncan and Barbara Sharp carried away first and second places, respectively, in the county finals of the Toastmasters' Contest. 27-Major Schoof of the Canadian Northwest Mounted Police, displayed many trophies and told of his adventures at a student body assembly. APRIL 2-Coach Dean Cromwell addressed the masculine portion of the student body in the gym. 2-5-The county Festival of Arts was celebrated in the gymnasium. Pro- grams and displays from all county schools were arranged. 5-The Pomona College lllenis Glee Club appeared in a special assembly for the student body. 8-The cast of f'Neighbors , a one-act play, took fourth place in the Pasa- dena Playhouse contest for Southern California schools. ll-The freshmen and sophomore girls had a special tea, at which lNIrs. Gamage was the speaker. 12-Spring colors and gaiety prevailed at a student body party in the gym. 13, 21-A week of rest. 26-The student body greeted the appearance of the far-famed Trojan band with enthusiasm. 27-Football awards were presented during an assembly. KIAY 2-lf-Nominations for student body ofiicers were made. 28-New student body officers were elected. 29-A special hlemorial Day program was presented in the gym. 30-A holiday was granted to students in observance of hlemorial Day. JUNE 7-New officers were officially installed, and senior class members provided a program of laughs for the student body. 9--The solemn rites of Baccalaureate services took place at 7:30 P.lXI. I0-Seniors took their examinations and were excused from school. ll-Examinations were given to the unlucky underclassmen. 12-Last call for examinations. 13-The senior class bid a fond farewell to its alma mater at commencement exercises in the gymnasium. l-lf-The last flourisl of the senior class--the long-awaited senior prom. IN CLASS AND OUT Too had these seniors didnlt have time to poseg what a lovely picture it could have heenl Poor Mrs. Richardson, we feel sorry for you with the lihrary to handle-especially without the help of the seniors. Two other views of the front of the school. Again we give you a peek into the football field at practice timegand then we slip you up to the office practice room and let you watch Corrall add them up. After that, we go into the oral arts room and hear Klr. Brady telling the poor kids how to avoid stage fright. Then to get outside the huilding and have another view of the front stepsgthis time mostly of the girls on the steps. Taylor vaults right over this one with a big grin-and then Hr. Hill hooks a high one on the courts, while these girls think of nothing hut the hully, merely the centers. Back into the chemistry lah. where Vernon is showing lir- nestine just how to do it-while over here in a little group are all the hahies-parclon-the Freshmen girls. ln the picture here, we see that 'llhacher also ran.
