It is the duty of this group to authorize all student body expendi- tures, appoint special committees, transact all routine business, and make recommendations to the student body. The committee may grant emblems as a reward for athletic services, upon recommenda- tion of the coach. lt is also up to the committee to approve the dates for dances and other school activities. This year's executive committee sponsored many interesting and educational assemblies. Among these were programs by Geoffrey lllorgan, the Dixie Jubilee Quartette, the Trojan Band, and the Pomona Glee Club. ln addition, the group arranged many clever and original pep rallies. , Aside from its regular responsibilities, the executive committee sponsored three dances held in the gymnasium. The first was held on September 6, the second on February l, and the third and last was held on April 12. The group planned the Carnival which was held in the gymnasium on lllarch 15. EL SOLANO STAFF Striving to publish a better book, lil Solano staff members set to work early in December developing a new style and organizing the book. lltlembers of the stall consisted mostly of seniors, with two juniors and one sophomore. Barbara Sharp was the editor of the book. Her assistants were Doris Warreli, Helen Jean Shipley, Sarah Teague, Anita Sharp, john liakin, John Cline, and Roy Wil- son, business manager. llrs. Roy Priebe acted as adviser for the annual. GIRLS' LEAGUE Xlonthly program teas sponsored by the Girls' League proved very interesting and successful this year. In addition, several forums on school problems were held. Santa Paula was represented at the Southern California Convention in Los Angeles last November by Patricia Leighton and Charna Liberman. In the same month, this school was hostess to a county meeting at which plans were made for a county organization. The officers serving the Girls, League this year were: president, Patricia Leightong vice-president, Charna Libermang secretary, Theda Callg treasurer, Barbara Sweetlandg historian, Helen Sharp: faculty adviser, bliss Rhe Nelson.
