The Songs impressed the judges at summer camp, enough so that they were awarded Third Best District Routine. They were voted superior, and received the most points for overall excellence. The girls weren't in it just for the glory. They found that being a Song-enabled them to meet people, and face the world ublnq with a smile. ig g Songs- clockwise: Joanne Werner, Bev Shoff, Sherry Yamamoto, Conwyn Travers, Cynthia Adkins, Billie Herron. Q' , Majorettes- Diane Garvin, Virginia Arnold, Marianne Souza, Karen Baluda, Debbie Garvin. Mojorettes The Majorettes attained amazing dexterity in performance this year. Their routines proved to be intricate, complicated, and consistently well performed. Although unable to compete in parades. the Majorettes added their special brand of spirit to the pep rallies and halftime performances. At camp, the girls received a Best All Around trophy, and a second place trophy for their superior twirling ability. Four of the five Majorettes were Juniors, so Samo looked forward to another season with the talented twirlers.
