Samo Orchestra The Samohi Orchestra brought much enjoyment to the music minded students, with their rendition of many classical and popular pieces. Among the performances were the October assembly, Stairway to the Stars, festivals and the spring concert. Highlighting an eventful year for the Chamber Orchestra was a performance on the Sunday morning Steps to Learning television program along with Superintendant Alfred Artuso. SERENADERS. The Viking Band The 1973-1974 Marching Band, led by Mr. Robert Zachman, garnered much recognition for Samohi through their impressive showings at several parades. They were awarded second place at the Rosemead Parade and fourth at the El Primero Band Review despite a conflicting SAT examination. The band also marched in the Hawthhorne and San Diego Band Reviews. Concert Band's big event for the year was a performance tour through British Columbia where they were very well recieved.
