What airs in dress an' gait wad lea'e us, And ev'n devotion! -Robert Burns These simple lines written in 1780 by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns, seem to the Nautilus Staff to have a particular implication today, almost two hundred years later. We were especially impressed by the idea stated by Burns that in seeing our- selves as other see us we would be free from many uncertainties, blunders, and foolish notions. In addition there are many students who now, because they conform so strongly to group ideals, have lost their individuality, integrity, and moral responsi- bility. An uncluttered, self-analytical look at themselves would make our Samohi students develop into the type of young people we shall need to govern our de- mocracy in the Atomic Age. Dayna Judd Editor
