Science Untangles Nature's Mysteries Learning to form our opinions with facts to back them up is the scientific way we have learned through our science study. This is very important as we will be the future voters and will decide the policies of the nation. WR' have learned that our point of view must be changed when new evidence is produced. The phenomena of nature were uncovered for us in our science courses. In Physical Science and Physics we learned why there are rainbows. rain, blue skies and other puzzling weather changes. The mys- teries of heat. light, and sound were uncovered and the advantages of putting them to work were learned, Chemical structures of solids and chemical formulas were untangled in Chemistry. Witli the strictly scientific world looming higher in the future and the acute need for scientists, our science program has been planned to meet this need. ?vr Scien ti ic We ld :low Nlr. ltirl fnrlson. algebra. lviisiness arithiiietii' li s' i ' , U lI1t'-- Hiuliiiiu. rlillllklry lrallilllq, Q u ina, .Xliove, Mr. VValter .X. Wfith such a widespread interest in this subject, a class was organized here a few years ago. Since its founding, the class has grown too large for the amount of working space. This growth in- dicates the interest we have in this course. ln the class we have learned to take take pic- tures with some thought to the background and position of the subject. XXL also received in- struction on the developing and printing of pictures. The study of animal and plant life in biology i- a very important science course offered. Many of us did not know the scientific names of com- mon animals and plants. by studying animals and their physical characteristics. we were able to ,urasp a deeper understanding of ourselves.

In our freshman year we took general shop. which gave us 21 foundation for the advanced shop work. In this course we learned the use of various tools and the simple rudiments of me- chanical drawing. The next years course in- cluded the use of machine tools in machine shop. ln our junior year, we rebuilt cars and repaired engines in auto mechanics. For those of us who desired to go right on to a job from our shop courses, we enrolled in carpentry, millworlc, and welding. In these courses we did projects for the community and school. lcl x li luxiiwlll iil ig, :1:iitul'u1't ltlvxx Xl ' ' g , i J, ,fi I- i , , i'. ,Xrtliur l,.
