lddd Wwtafzq September of 1940 was the beginning of a new and different life for Joan Lilley, Mike David, Jake Linkey, Nan Clayton, Frank Corsaro, Doris Bahr, Carol Smith, Billy Janis, Celia Luna, Elsie Holloway and Patsy Holloway. Being the brilliant students that we were the faculty felt it wasn't necessary for us to attend the second grade, so passed us from the first to the third. At that time we wel- comed to the group Edna Ross and Rudolph Mansi. In the fifth grade we were privileged to receive Orie Lee Montgomery. Upon entering the sixth grade we greeted the smiling faces of Margie Ross, Eugene Matejka, Dorothy Brandon and Maxine McCarty. The pupils awaiting us in the seventh grade were Dorothy Brown, Lorraine Ortego, Io Alice Sumrall and James Ryan. Also in the seventh grade, our class was deeply grieved by the loss of one of our members, Lois Dyess. In the eighth grade we added Allen Tacquard and Warren Ryan. At last we reached our first goal. We were freshmen! At that time we added Charles Butts and Maxine Cummins to our roster. We had no one join our lovely group in the tenth grade, but in the eleventh we were joined by Helen Plummer, Julia Berczik, Harvey Hengst and Gerrell Behringer. That year we were hosts to the Royal Court and treated the 1950 Seniors to the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. . At last we were seniors. In that year we were privileged to accept Nadie Autrey and Dorothy Thompson. We cannot find the words to express the feeling of being seniors - - the rings. the re- ceptions, the parties, the trips and this, our banquet. As we look forward to our commencement, in this spring of 1951, we are once again at the fork in the road. Some of us will take the road to the left, which leads to a dead end. Others will take the road to the right - - this road is leading to still other forks, until we reach our ultimate goal.
