This ambitious class again won the P.T.A- f1'iP- We again journeyed to Excelsior Springs, since we enjoyed ourselves so much the preceding year we just had to go back. Two members of our class were sent to Girls' and BOYS State by the Waverly American Legion. They were .Toyce Smith, who went to William Woods College at Fulton, and Lawrence Biesemeyer, who went to C.Ivi.S.C. at Warrensburg- Barbara McKnight and Joyce Smith attended the typing and bookkeeping contests respective- ly at Warrensburg. A number of the girls and boys from our class helped represent the glee club and band in the music contest at Warrensburg. Listed are the juniors who made the team that year: Lawrence Biesemeyer, Donnie Schreier, Darrel Lynn, and Frances Snodgrass. Barbara McKnight was an attendant to the annual queen. Cecelia Valentine, Glenn Weedin and Douglas Fiene undertook the task of helping lead the cheers for our much favored basketball teams. We lost B. R. Tohnson and gained Bob Templeton as classmates. 1-ess, Later we danced And now the most important year of all--the year of 1955i Mr. Coffelt is the sponsor with Barbara McKnight as president, Oscar Schmidt Ir.-vice-president, Celia Utlaut- reporter, and Gerald Lane-giftorian. The class was very happy to have Joyce Chrisman reign as home-coming queen. This year we were happy to add to our class .Tames Hutcherson, but we were sad to lose George Kelling, Hazel Smith, Tommy Foose, and Floyd Smith. Yes, 1943 was a great year, but 1955 stands out even more in the memories of those who started their school career a long twelve years ago.
