we invite you to mite for a minute and sha r our world re with us impressions, feelings, and memories we have gathered in our years at Santa Cruz High School. for the first two years- three for those who entered as freshmen- we skimmed through each day concentrating on our own personal happenings and getting acquainted with the school. only when we realized that everything was happening for the last time and that each day brought graduation nearer, did we stop to take note of what our school has meant to us. most of us seniors, when we get nostalgic, will find that many things flash to our minds. we shall never forget the sound of the Pep Band drawing us like the Pied Piper of old into a rally, and giving our class yell, or the singing of the Fight Song and Loyalty, the excitement of the football or basketball games, and the singing of the A Cappella Choir, especially when they sang the Alma Mater and the Seven Fold Amen. others will recall the hushed bustle in the auditorium, the peals of laughter in the halls, the temporary relief of the noon hour, the tricky locker combination, the saved by a bell feeling at the end of certain periods, the presence of others in the halls, each going his own way, yet each a part of the school. the weariness after climbing the gym hill, the self-satisfaction when last nighfs homework is done. the relaxation of the gym period, the familiar sound of the bells, the unanimous response to a clever remark during class. and the thrill of passing that certain someone in the hall, these are sentiments we shall always remember . .
