THOSE HAVING TORCHES ILL PASS THE TO OTHERS . . . PLATO OUTSTANDING SENIORS SUE SOUZA AND BILL THOMPSON When entering high school as a timid freshman, SUE SOUZA set her mind to making SC a better school. Sue attended as many games as she could. Even though Sue had many extra curricular activities, she managed to keep up her grades, thus allowing her to become a member of CSF. The following year, Sue ran for a class office. As the results came in, Sue be- came the new Sophomore class secre- tary. Sue was then given a place in Stu- dent Council. This set off her strong in- terest in student government. Sue was also on the Inter Club Council and, as a Junior, was again elected sec- retary. To show that she had varied in- terests, she became active in both Span- ish and Rally Clubs. Sue, as a Senior was one of SC's most valuable Powder Puff team mem- bers. With all these things working for her, she topped off her spectacular sen- ior year as A.S.B. Secretary. 24 M .2 f-A f, , ,- W, ,,.,, ff

. 'QLYWZZ BILL THOMPSON, this years outstanding senior boy, is an example of spirited participation. BilI's interests vary from sports, to clubs, to student government. As a freshman, Bill joined the water-polo team. He continued to participate in water-polo throughout his high school days and added to that, swimming. Bill was, at first, a versatile swimmer, but in his Junior and Senior years settled down to the 200 andfor 400 Free Style. Besides participating in sports, Bill also belonged to the two boys service clubs on campus. He joined and worked for both the Panther Knights and the Block SC. Student government was more important to Bill than to a normal student, for Bill was elected student body president. As ASB president, Bill carried a big responsibility. He was head of the student council and in charge of all student council meetings and affairs. After graduation, Bill is planning to attend Long Beach State where he will major in Industrial Arts. Although the saying goes out-of-sight, out-of-mind, BiIl's friends will not forget him. His friendliness and charm cannot be easily forgotten. Whether it's BiII's humor and easy-going manner, or the way his friends jokingly refer to him as SC's Fat Albert , Bill Thompson typifies the outstanding people of the Class of '68. 25
