THEME - REFLECTIONS Let us remember that without in- telligence, judgement, and RE- FLECTION we have nothing. ln- telligence controls all progress, iudgement encompasses all that is right and wrong, good and bad, and reflection calls to mind all times - past, pres- ent, and future. What thin parti- tion lies between reflection and remembrance, reflection lets us remember and consider what is behind and evaluate what is to come. Reflect in ourselves and we find the secret of our ways. We are what we were. We leave Santa Clara with Christian ideals and clutch resolutions and dreams of greatness. We will help or hinder the world by the small measure in which empires are built and felled. We are the most vital source today, we are the link be- tween the past and the future - we are the present. Let us RE- FLECT on that. We pay tribute to a leadership that It is not good to think only of ourselves, let us reflect on others, too. Especially, let us reflect on one to whom we owe a great deal-MSGR. ANTHONY J. JACOBS. Monsignor helped us so much, so often. He freely gave his advice, help, and guidance whenever it was asked or needed. As a school we are in honor- able debt for he labored for our constant advance- ment and expansion. A learned man, being personal or businesslike as the case called, he lived for his parish, his people, and his schools. We were very much a part of him, and now he is gone. And though we live to go farther, conscious of that part of himself he has shared with us, we miss him and look back and remember. . . DEDICATION IN LOVING MEMORY The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Anthony J.Jacobs.
