What thin parti- tion lies between reflection and remembrance, reflection lets us remember and consider what is behind and evaluate what is to come. Reflect in ourselves and we find the secret of our ways. We are what we were. We leave Santa Clara with Christian ideals and clutch resolutions and dreams of greatness. We will help or hinder the world by the small measure in which empires are built and felled. We are the most vital source today, we are the link be- tween the past and the future - we are the present. Let us RE- FLECT on that. Especially, let us reflect on one to whom we owe a great deal-MSGR. ANTHONY J. JACOBS. Monsignor helped us so much, so often. He freely gave his advice, help, and guidance whenever it was asked or needed. As a school we are in honor- able debt for he labored for our constant advance- ment and expansion. A learned man, being personal or businesslike as the case called, he lived for his parish, his people, and his schools. We were very much a part of him, and now he is gone. And though we live to go farther, conscious of that part of himself he has shared with us, we miss him and look back and remember. . . DEDICATION IN LOVING MEMORY The Rt. Rev. Msgr. At Santa Clara we have two kinds of assemblies-chair assemblies and bleacher assemblies. Pictured are the freshmen and iuniors at an assembly honoring some of the school athletes. Thomas Westervelt, President, and Nancy Braden, Vice-President, are conscious that the real leader will seek to understand the views of the many. They have a suggestion box to help them in this facet of leadership. Membership in The officers of the Associated Student Body govern this organization through a Student Council com- posed of class, section, and other campus-organiza- tion officers. The Student Council meets once each week and the decisions of Council are presented to the members of the Student Body through class meetings, section period, and student body meetings. Its greatest educative value is to prepare the members to fulfill their unique destinies in our larger American society. Sandra Hildenbrand Secretary, prepares her notes for the next Student Body Meeting. the ASSGCIATED STUDENT BODY at Santa Clara prepares us for world-wide leadership and fellowship with a common concern for others. 77 U.S, Representative Teague, State Senator Lagomarsino, and Ventura County Supervisor Laubacher answer political and social queries of students. The Representative of the University of San Francisco, Mr. Robert A. Braghetta, speaks to the seniors on college life and study. Civic leaders leave Santa Clara after a very inter- esting and informative program. They are U. S. Repre- sentative Teague, State Senator Lagomarsino, and Ventura County Supervisor Laubacher. dividends worthy Sister Mary Robert shows visitors Santa Clara campus. Mohorko of St. Mary's College discuss the adiust- ment of the college freshman. We always have time to learn and to welcome those persons who will help us to form ideals and goals-colleges, vocations, and other programs for our advancement. We are fortunate in this stable community to have qualified adults to assist us in our growth. It is to them that we look for dignified leader- ship as we take our places in the civic life in this community. The time we take to listen to others now pays rich in developing evaluations later. We pay tribute to dedicated personnel.
