You now take your places among the many fine gradu- ates ot our school who have gone on to make contributions to our community and to our na- tion. Our hope tor you is that you are fully prepared to take advantage ot the golden op- portunities that lie ahead of you, and that your high school education vvill serve you well in whatever tasks you undertake. White Principal On this 50th anniversary ot the Olive and Gold, special tribute is paid to the Board ot Education, which is composed ot elected citizens to assist the Superintendent in planning policies ot the city school system. With the resignation of Dr. Einar W. Jacobson, we welcome Dr. Norman Scharer as new Superintendent ot City School. The handling ot the business and maintenance of our schools is the job ot Mr. George Brown, Assistant Superintendent. Dr. Charlotte Elmott directs the activities ot the junior and senior high school. Mr. Douglas White, Principal ot Santa Barbara High School, co-ordinates school policies and turthers public relations. Vice-principal John Nordenson serves in an advisory capacity to the Student Legislature and performs' other execu- tive duties. Advising the Girls' League is one ot Mrs. Zelma Pierce's many duties as Dean at Girls.
