Bob Stafford-Bob played guard and was capfain of the Mounfaineers in 'rhe game wifh Winfers. He made All Disfricl and also -made Honorable Meniion in the All S'ra+e Pick. Bob lurned in his besi games againsf Cross Plains and Coleman. Howard Lee Lovelady-Howard Lee played wingback and some a+ lailback. He was capiain of fhe Mounfaineers in 'rhe Rochelle and Ballinger games. Howard Lee Turned in his besl' games 'wi+h Rochelle and Cole- man. -Gene Sherriod-Gene was elecfed caplain of fhe I946 squad. Gene called signals for 'rhe squad lhe entire year and furned in a wonderful iob. Gene played speclacular ball lhe enfire season. however, he pracfic- ally ran lhe Brady Bulldogs off lhe field. Slanley Cobb-Sfanley played Tackle and +urnecl in a remarkable season al 'rhis posi- lion. This year being a Sophomore he should be a war horse by 'rhe lime he be- comes a Senior.
