IT WAS JUST ANOTHER YEAR! OR WAS IT? ... A name very familiar to our school was now a name familiar to the rest of the U.S. Her name was Diane Keaton and she was an Academy Award hopeful! She was also a graduate of our fine school! Starring in two movie smashes; ANNIE HALL and LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR, she became our new heroin!! Eat your heart out Wonderwoman!!! Diane's great success only proves that everyone of us can have our dreams fulfilled with a little confidence and a lot of hard work! But all work and no play makes a person very disgusting! As the great Steve (Excuse Me) Martin once (or twice) put it- Be pompous, obese and eat cactus, Be dull and boring and omnipresent. Criticize things you don't know about. Be oblong and have your knees removed!! Signs of the times?? Our grandchildren won't understand. I am not sure we do. Our peers were standing in line for hours, paying four dollars a seat to see the two movie thrillers; STAR WARS and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND!! And we can't forget the ever popular disco-saga, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. All of this being a very important part of our lives, and though it may slip our minds at times, we will be enlightened by these memories on the days when we are feeling sad or empty. ] 6-Opening

IT WAS JUST ANOTHER YEAR! OR WAS IT? ... Striving for personal achievement was a job conquered by all! From the field of Art to the challenge of Sports! The Basketball team was bigger and better! The girls Volleyball team was undefeated! And all fields of Art (including Industrial Arts) had accomplished a great deal of beauty and imagination. Only proving that some day our people (the so-called children) will be set free to become the strivers, achievers, and Leader of our new world!! For now we are yesterdays child and S.A.H.S. is but a memory. Opening-5

IT WAS JUST ANOTHER YEAR! OR WAS IT? ... Our Band won Division 2, second place honors at the California Band Review held on November 25. Chris Trujillo, Drum Major, received first prize in the military Drum Major portion of the review. The Marching Saints dawned beautiful new uniforms as well as a new Band Director, Mr. john Daniels. Our Drill Team took part in a formal personnel Inspection at the Naval Reserve Center. The shoes (or should I say flippers) of swimming and water polo coach Schoop have been filled by the U.S.C. graduate Dean Hestrup. Coach Watts left World Cultures to devote all his time to the undefeated Basketball team! Thank-you Coach Watts!! The fall play proved the Drama department exceptional! The Dramatic presentation was the ever-popular suspense-thriller, TEN LITTLE INDIANS!! The Gong Show, presented by the Unity Club, was one of the schools main attractions!! A number of ... unusual presentations were performed by teachers, and students from all of the school district! Professional Dancer and his company, Dan Waggoner, lectured on the basics of Modern Dance! Following the lecture, Mrs. Hayes and Ms. Woodard's dance classes received a free two hour class.
