PRESIDENTS LaVonne Dohm Lynn Jefferies This year, as in the past, the Girls' League Cabinet had a very heavy schedule, which they undertook and carried through with a wonderful spirit of enthusiasm. First on the list was the Sophomore Tea, which made the sophomores and all newcomers to Santa Ana High School feel truly welcome. Following this event was an even more successful Football Dance, feting not only our school, but Newport Harbor High School as well. At Christmas, the Cabinet sought to convey the season's greetings by trimming a large tree in the foyer and distributing corsages and boutonnieres to all the faculty members. As a second semester project, vocational guidance conferences were conducted for all the feminine members of the student body. A fitting conclusion to a very successful year, the Coed afforded the girls the chance to treat their best beaus to this semi-formal dance. Among the activities which a student may enjoy at Santa Ana High School are the school publications handled by the students. These include The Generator, a periodical newspaper, our yearbook, the Ariel, and Leaves in the Wind, a magazine published by the Creative Writing class. School publications keep an accurate measurement of the growth and records of the school, as well as give the students experience in writing and journalism. For the many long hours and hard work put into these publications, a great deal of satisfaction and pride in the result is the reward—a well-earned one.
