Emma Sansom High School WHAT IS A HIGH SCHOOL? When you think of a high school, what do you see? This is the picture that comes to me: A high school is people—teenagers and all. It’s assemblies and classes and a rush in the hall. It’s panic at grade cards; it's purple and gold; It’s thrills and excitement that never grow old. Suspense fills the hallways, and rivalry’s keen. All yearn for a scholarship; who will be Queen? A high school means projects and clubs with their fun. And everyone working till all tasks are done; Tense moments at l all games—Will we win or not? That “Fightin’ Reb” spirit means more than we thought! What is a high school ? W hat is its story ? We’ve told it here in all of its glory! Through the Pages of Vj? The 1964 TALISMAN The Annual Staff Invites you to take Journey Through Rebel Land EMMA SanSOM HIGH SCHOOL 3 [ KHT1SKMKYI'S — CONTENTS DEDICATION - ADMINISTRATION FACULTY STUDENT COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONS — ACTIVITIES FEATURES ...— ATHLETICS PUBLICATIONS — TALISMAN” STAFF REBEL REVIEW” STAFF — CLASSES Dedication We the members of the Annual Staff dedicate the 1961 “Talisman” to one who has been faithful to Emma Sansom High School through disappointing years as well as through successful years. Although he is quiet and not outspoken publicly, his teaching ability cannot be denied by anyone. Since he was a “Little All-American” football player he is considerer! one of football’s all time greats. During his coach- ing career he has produced more All-State backs than any other coach in Alabama. To you, Coach George Blackie’ Heath this is our way of saying, “Thanks for your most loyal and faithful support to Emma Sansom High School and to our great Rebel football team.” MYRA SATTERFIELD Assistant Editor JEANIE BROWN Business Manager 8 MRS.
