'a TRACKS TOWARD Through the fall semester, the Sanger Indians eagerly trekked toward the championship. As the school year opened, eager students with brand new ideas led many activities at Sanger High School. There was a dance, hall decorating, run-through signs, visiting cheerleaders, bonfire, car painting sessions. Each Friday night was awaited with eager anticipa-tion- 4 Celebra i iory Small in Number. Large in Spirit! 5 Could we win again? And the Sanger Indians were never disappointing. Each Friday Night brought them one step closer to a District Championship. The Indians were a fever that couldn't be stopped. The Indians succeeded in obtaining the District title. A community pep rally was held to cheer the Indians on toward the Bi-District game. The Indians had a great year. TOMORROW 7 Tim Diepenhorst, a member of the class of 1984, is someone the seniors will always remember. Tim was a fine classmate, and his friendship will always be captured in memory and stored deep in the heart of every one of his peers. Tim was involved in rodeo activities, and was a contributor to Sanger's spirit and pride. The graduating class of 1984 is saddened at the loss of Tim Diepenhorst. but his memory will warm the hearts of his classmates forever. I . . We are considered the busiest class because we spend more time raising money than any other class in school. From September to May the sponsors and juniors were seen scurrying around making money. In September we washed cars at the Sella-bration. October’s main event was decorating the first hall for “Most Spirited” during Homecoming week, and WE WON! We also painted Homecoming windows around town. Just before Christmas we sold Candy and popcorn-filled sports cans, and worked concession stands at the basketball games. Always trying to make more money for that important goal-The Prom! We planned, decorated, ordered favors, and provided refreshments for the prom we hoped to make the best ever. This year has been exciting and important year in our journey through high school. We have made one important step toward graduation! Vice-President The Sanger FFA is a part of the national organization that has 106 students enrolled in vocational agriculture agribusiness. Through active participation in the FFA, members learn by taking part in and conducting meetings, and taking part in community activities. Some of the things the Sanger FFA participated in this year were the working on the Ag. Bam, they sold fruit and sausage, they participated in a District Banquet in Krum, they hosted a “Turkey Shoot”, and they tagged sheep, cows, etc. for the Denton County Livestock show. This has been a very productive year for the Sanger FFA. GREEN HANDS First Row: I. to r. Robert Sisco. Sponsor. Craig Adkins. Tim Arnett. Mike Belew. Brad Howard. Katie Henry. Jason Morris. On October 7, 1983 we attended the 1983-1984 Sanger High School Homecoming. We had a really good time, especially since we won against Commerce 28 - 0! We also elected our Homecoming Court. The Queen was Ginny Cooper and the King was Toby Inman. The Junior Princess and Prince were Stacy Schoonover and David Pennington. The Sophomore Princess and Prince were Trisha White and Michael Grace. The Freshman Princess and Prince were Au-brea Anderson and Brad Howard. The Football Sweetheart was Kim Davidson. Presenting Miss Cooper with the crown was last year’s Queen, Pam Howard. Teresa twtrling up a sta What a beautiful night! The stars of heaven were shining so brightly on April 19, 1984. The Prom incorporated Valet Parking for the first time at Sanger High. As you entered the front door, the song “Stairway to Heaven” was playing. Walking down the hall, you went by blue walls and through silver streamers. There was a beautiful fountain with running water. When you crossed over the lighted bridge, you stepped into a room full of stars and fog. In the middle of the room was a star with a flowing fountain in the center. There was a shower of stars. Dancing in a fog was a new experience for some. The dancing started slowly but soon everyone was getting on the dance floor and dancing to the beat. There were refreshments such as punch (from a fountain?) and cookies. Favors and congratulations were given out about 10:30. The favors were a garter, and a souven-ier book, napkins, and cup. ’ E'fr.l - 7 Curt best side Footloose!! 101 TO HEAVEN WORKING ON A STAIRWAY V'11 lew. Terefc Wi se White. Staci gal. Lane, Held 1.
