Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1955 volume:

We, the Staff of the INDIAN, have tried to make an annual which would present our school as you would like to remember it. In die years to come, may you turn through these pages and recall the many happy months at old Sanger High. DetUcatto«t L.L. BROWNING Football Coach JOHN M. CAMPBELL Boys' Basketball Coach H.R. KRAUSS Girls' Basketball Coach The Seniors of 55 wish to dedicate this INDIAN '55 to Coaches L. L. Browning, John M, Campbell, and H. R. Krauss, Their efforts have been untiring; their humor always inspiring; and their ideas always sound; and to them, we wish to pay tribute. I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to you for making the INDIAN of '55 of Sanger High School a tremendous success. I also express my sincere pleasure in announcing that it is not only a good book, but the changes made this year will make it beyond comparison of any published in the past. I feel as if this was made by the hard work, thinking, honest effort, and stability of the ones who made this book possible. My sincere wish to the students is that as they reach the declining years of life that looking through die annual of 55 will bring to their memory lots of pleasant thoughts of Sanger High School during their school days. Sincerely, R. C. Wilson you as the years go by. As you look back upon your 1954-55 school days, may you remember with enjoyment the good times you have had with your friends, and with satisfaction the profitable hours spent in the classroom. May you resolve to try even harder in the future to make every minute of the school years count in order that you may develop into intelligent-thinking and intelligent-acting persons. To all those who have contributed in any way to the success of the school, I express my sincere thanks. Sincerely yours, H. R. Krauss y%c(4tee Standing: Alvin Brown, Alfred Ashcraft. SCHOOL BOARD MESSAGE We offer our congratulations to you, the CLASS OF 1955, for your excellent standard of achievement. As your success is realized, our compensation is increased. The welfare of our students and school are our first consideration. For thirty-four years she has been employed as a teacher in the public schools of Erath, Schleicher, and Denton Counties. Her first employment in this county was at Chinn’s Chapel in 1909-10. Since that time she has taught for 27 years in the Sanger Schools. She will retire at the end of this school year. It is interesting to leam that twelve members of this graduating class were Mrs. Neppie's pupils, and that some of their parents were also her pupils. We are happy to pay tribute to one who is so deserving for so long. May the memories of your work linger with you, and may you cherish them more as the years go by. MV ■' r ri X v % 1 «•., «v tfSS .
