Our 'reacher for lhe eigh+h grade was Miss Ola Mae Davis. Graduafion info-high school high-ligh+ed 'lhis enfire year. Mrs. S. B. Powel was our commence- menl' speaker. This was a happy occasion especially for +he girls wifh 'rheir firsi' corsages and silk hose lRayon-due +o 'rhe warl. Virginia McKenzie was valedicforian and LaVerne Maslen, Salulalorian. lni'ra+ion inlo high school was fun. All our subiecfs seemed hard especially algebra. Home eco. and agg. were fascinafing for us. Mrs. Hesfaline Burroughs sponsored us. G. W. Crunk and J. Dallas Curfsinger ioined us. Dorofhy Belcher, Junior Davis, and Vera Linehan were welcomed as our new pupils. Miss Callis Miller was our beloved sponsor. Our social aclivilies consisfed of weiner roas'r-held in +he gym. Our elaiion was high as we assumed fhe role of JUNIORS! Thai name we all hallow and revere. Everyday was filled wifh exciiemenl' and anficipafion. Rings were ordered, banquels were planned, parries held and sponsors changed l9 +imesl Nancy Porfer was our only new pupil. Wilh poise. grace and dignify we are 'roday known as Seniors! The days and weeks fly by as we plan our acfivilies. A sad nofe was 'rhe burning of lhe gym. Due +o fhis facl our senior acfivilies were curfailed Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boldin sponsored our class. H is wil'h mixed feeling of joy and sadness +ha+ approach lhe end of our public school career. Graleful +o all who have guided us fhrough +he years, hopeful 'lhal we may prove wor+hy of 'rheir iraining.
