Ida Mar Ary, Bobby Brown, Ray Nicholas Cherry, and Broolcsie Windle are among 'rhe graduaies of I948. The second year wifh Miss Margueriffe Riggs as feacher was a happy year. We go+ our 'Firs+ +as+e of ari+hme+ic and alsofell' lhe pangs of a hyperdomic needle when we received our vaccinafion for small pox. Bruce Anihony. LaVerne Mas+en. and Mary S'l'inson ioined our class io -shine in lhe ioy of being moved +o fhe second floor for our fhird year class room. Virginia McKenzie was valedicforian and LaVerne Maslen, Salulalorian. lni'ra+ion inlo high school was fun. All our subiecfs seemed hard especially algebra. Home eco. and agg. were fascinafing for us. Mrs. Hesfaline Burroughs sponsored us. G. W. Crunk and J. Dallas Curfsinger ioined us. Dorofhy Belcher, Junior Davis, and Vera Linehan were welcomed as our new pupils. Miss Callis Miller was our beloved sponsor. Our social aclivilies consisfed of weiner roas'r-held in +he gym. Our elaiion was high as we assumed fhe role of JUNIORS! Thai name we all hallow and revere. Everyday was filled wifh exciiemenl' and anficipafion. Rings were ordered, banquels were planned, parries held and sponsors changed l9 +imesl Nancy Porfer was our only new pupil. Wilh poise. grace and dignify we are 'roday known as Seniors!
