Ronald Stinnett won second prize for our class in the American Legion Oratorical Con- test and trilue memliers ,loyce Macliarlaitd, Mary li. l'ickles, 'lane Rupp, and ,lack Flood took part in the one-act play, The Devil Comes to Alcaraz , which reached the finals in the state of Maine annual contest. .Ns an added honor for memliers of our class, .lane Rupp and Mary li. Pickles went to Hel- grade Lake, Maine, Girls' State. sponsored liy the .Xmerican Legion . Xuxiliary. lane later went to Girls' Nation in XYashington, D. C. Our junior year closed with the lneautiful Starlight Serenade at the Alunior Prom. .Xs seniors, mightiest of them all, our first acts were the humlrling of the new freshmen and the sulisequent welcoming of them at the Senior-Frosh l'arty and the Freshman Re- ception. Our adviser this year was Mrs. Clarke. Our officers were: liill XX'alker, re- elected president, Roliert Savage, vicespresi- dentg Claire Arseneault, secretary: and Ned Maher, treasurer. Our new student council members were Sally Arseueault and Donald Mace. The first main social event of our last year on the reservation was the Senior Social, at which a Night llefore Christmas skit was presented with Spook Mitchell as Santa Claus with gifts for lmoth teachers auzl stu! dents. 'llliough realizing none of our trille could enjoy the new gym alvout to lie eonstrueted, nevertheless, we spent many hours preparing our float for the mammoth parade staged for the lienefit of the new gym. liy way of pos- ters we pleaded with the local citizens for something lvesides a home on the range for future redskins. ln addition to our large float. Spook Mitchell and Roland liedard paraded in full war paint. .Nt the NYinter Carnival Rall, Roland Xa- deau and 'liheresa Cole were elected king and queen of the festivities. ,loyce lXlacFarlaud was the attendant from the trilve of ati. 'llhe annual school play had ample represen- tation from our class. ,lack Flood, .loyce Mae- liarland, Ned Maher, Margary Shoesmith, Yir- ginia Iluplisea, Rolrert Pouliu, Stephen Tili- lietts, Mary lf. Pickles, Roger Racette, Rolvert Mitchell, and Roland Camire all took part in the threesaet presentation, Our Town , which was a great success. Roliley XX'ilson won second prize in the Le- gion Oratorieal Contest, William Xkalker, ,lack llarvill, ,lane Rupp, Lillian Grant, Margary Shoesmith, Rolnley XX'ilson, and llugh lleuuett took the annual Pepsi-Cola Scholarship lixam. Hugh and Rolmley reached the Finals. ln March, the one-act play The Command l'erformance featured from our class Roliert Vouliu. ,lack Flood, ,loyee MaeFarland, Mar- gary Shoesmith, Ned Maher, Mary Pickles, and ,lane Rupp. NN'ith the passing of many moons, the trail has led to the great trilial ceremonies in june.
