McCamphill, The Calhoun Wheel Club, sponsored by the Merrick Rotary, was organized in December of 1959. The club did much this year to carry out its aims of school and community service as put forth by the club motto of 'gServ- ice Above Selff' It sponsored a Christmas card delivery and a spring dance. In addition the club members ushered at the Brotherhood Dinner and the sec- tional wrestling matches here at Calhoun. Jacobson, K. Dippel, FRONT ROW - M. Chapnick, The Key Club, organized at Mepham in 1952, has contin- ued to be a service organiza- tion of importance and influ- ence. This year was a busy one for thirty members, the Key Club raised most of their S750 scholarship fund, sponsored a basketball game, acted as guards at the football, basket- ball, and wrestling games, and collected money for the Heart Fund, Cerebral Palsy Fund, and the Red Cross. BACK - Library Club The Library club is the girls' service organization serving the students and teachers availing themselves of the facili- ties of the Calhoun High School library. Each member must have a minimum class average of eighty-two, must devote five periods a week to work in the library, and must be willing to help all those in need of assistance there. The girls are each taught the basic library skills 5 they learn to Hle and shelve books, check them in and out and answer most reference questions. The library club members benefit themselves through the widening of their horizons and Calhoun High through their tradition of helpfulness and service. S Rothman L Krauss, Miss Burns, S. Campbell.
