One of the busiest men in Calhoun High is Mr. Sanford Livingston. The ofiice of Assistant Principal entails tremendous amounts of work, Mr. Livingston is in charge of Attendance, the Audio-visual Aids Department, the teaching and office staff, school discipline, the General Organization, book distribution, school monies and the student lockers, among other duties. For two years he has worked hard and well to keep the school functioning well. Mr. Livingston had been in the district for sixteen years. He taught mathematics and coached tennis for ten years at Mepham. In 1954 he joined the math department at the Merrick Avenue Junior High School and taught there for three years, still continuing to coach the varsity tennis team. During the year previous to his situation in the Sanford H. Calhoun High School he served as guidance counselor in the junior high. Mr. Livingston is vital to the organization of Calhoun and has become, through his untiring labor, a person upon whom the foundations of the welfare of the school system will ever rest.
