PROPHECY Dear Diary: The Senior Class was together last night for the first time since gradu- ation on May 28, 1954. Edna Corns Hall, and Ben, her husband, gave us a lovely party in their twenty-room home in Rhode Island. At the.party all of us caught up on all the things that had happened during the ten years the class hadn't been together. April 9, 1964 Leroy Dodson, believe it or not, is an industrious business man, He is owner of the Throwing Plant at Madison, and Billy Nelson is manager and sees that every- body does their work. Bobby Hall owns two thousand acres of land in Texas where oil was discovered last year. He is now very wealthy and has hired Willie Hutcherson, an efficient little bookkeeper, to take care of all his financial problems. Hassell Carter and L. D. Smith own the largest garage in Greensboro and Wayne Knight is their best mechanic. He will be asking for a raise before long. Ethelene Robertson is one of the top ten movie stars of the year. She was really great in the movie, You arc My Everything. Annie Mae Varner is Superintendent of Nurses at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital at Concord where she loves nursing all the handsome young patients. They recuper- ate quickly under Annie Mae's undivided attention. Dorothy Hall is a very capable home economics teacher at Sandy Ridge High School and she enjoys teaching the girls to cook and sew. Carol Corn looks very attractive modeling those gorgeous Paris creations at one of the most fashionable dress shops in New York. Ruthie Leake and Temple Tilley lead a very exciting life working in Washington for the F.B.I. Ray Shaffer is a very distinguished salesman We might have known this would be his career because during school he could talk the class into doing practically anything. Marjorie Woods owns one of the most expensive beauty shops in Martinsville and Shelby Jean Vernon is her most efficient beauty operator. They get most of their hair styles from Paris. If you want a poodle or an Italian cut see Margie and Shelby. Carlene Nichelston and Evadene Sheppard are married to two very nice young men, Glenn Doss and Herman Roark. They enjoy housekeeping and taking care of their two small children while Glenn and Herman work for Junior Wilkins who owns the largest pharmacy in High Point. Marion Dodson really surprised everyone. He is one of the most promising young lawyers in Winston-Salem. So if you need any legal advice in a hurry see Marion. He really knows how to win his cases. L. D. Martin is Sandy Ridge's favorite doctor. He has a cure for practically every- thing. That little nurse' in the outer office, who looks vaguely familiar, is none other than Joy Amos, his wife. Joy enjoys helping L. D. with his ailing patients. Jackie Taylor did exactly what everyone expected. He is the owner of the largest hot rod race track in the state. His wife, Connie Amos, anxiously waits at home with crossed fingers until she learns if Jackie's favorite driver won. R. E. Steele hasha career in professional basketball. Evoryone enjoys watching him play ball with the Minneapolis Lakers over television. Ruby Wall has really become a famous singer in ten years. The public is talking about Ruby, instead of Patti Page. After hearing about everybody's career and having a wonderful time at Edna's party, I, Frances Steele, returned home to continue teaching English at the Uni- versity of Hawaii. FRANCES STEELE, Prophet 18
