Open House Draws Big Crowd On September 25 or 7 pm. SHS was filled wirh positive parents'' quipped Dick Harrison. Assistant Principal. In the past, some people have said that Open House was pretty boring, bur this year proved to be an exception wirh such a good turnout. The parents and faculty all met in the commons to discuss the order of the evening. Then, parents went obour fotowing their sons' and daughters' schedules to hear from teachers about course outlines, grades and the like. After a couple of hours, everyone met bad in the commons for entertainment by the SHS music deportment and refreshments prepared by Sandy's cooking staff. Open House was designed to help the parents get acquainted with the teachers of their youngsters. It gave the parents an understanding of what the kids went through for seven hours a day. Of course, the parents got on understanding of what the reochers went through every day too. Queen Krissie Deigns Over Homecoming The lights go down, on anxious colm commences, Andy Dierderich steps to the podium. The sound of o drumroll echoes through the gym .. . and so begins 1986 Homecoming Week! Freshman princess Molly Kelner said that plans after high school included being o fashion designer and owning a BMW When sophomore princess Heidi Zoellmer was asked what month she'd most like to be in Ploy boy, her reply was that if she had the body of a Playmate she could care less when it was.” To the bear of Twist and Shout” by the Beatles, Lana Morgan was crowned junior princess. She described her worst dare with the movie title The Jerk.” First senior princess Missy O'Malley described her most embarrassing moment as the rime she drove to school on a flat tire and didn't know it until someone told her Second senior princess Teri Buss thought her most embarrassing moment was falling down the stairs right after first lunch Finally. Homecoming Queen Krissie Wilson was crowned She was escorted by her younger brother Cliff Wilson and Morgan Emrich The srroins of Every Breath You Take” by the Police filled the gym as Krissie proudly rook her crown. Lunchtime festivities induded bottle feeding o partner roorbeer, earing butter-topped spaghetti, the senior slave sole, and the annual Homecoming Air Bond Contest. The winning group was Van Halen (Mike Reiter, Nick Kern, Lance Conger and Greg Dahm) performing Beouriful Girls.” Dress-up doys included Disney, Pojamas, Punk Rock. Layers, Super Hero, Rombo and Color Days To top off the week, a bonfire and rally were held Thursday night to get fans and players pumped for the big game.
