To some of us a cor is o luxury rhor we ore very forrunore ro hove To others it is o necessity that we could not do without. For some people a car is nothing more rhon transportation ro school, ro the donee on Friday, or to the movie on Saturday night. To these people o cor is something handy ro hove oround. bur it is cerroinly not o necessity. To other people o cor is os important os breathing, eoring or sleeping It is o means ro get to work. Other people moy also count on these cor owners ro be dropped off or school, or picked up ond token ro work. At Sondy High the srudenrs fit in both categories. Almost 50% of rhe seniors interviewed hod cors ond 95% of rhose who hod cors were holding down port time jobs Only 8% of rhose surveyed hod port time jobs bur no cars When juniors were asked, however, why they hod o job in rhe first place, most responded, To get o cor When confronted with rhe question Did you get o cor because you needed it for work, or did you get o job because you wonted o cor? the overwhelming response wos rhe tarter Obviously, or least or SHS, the cor is o major port of having fun.
