De- spite a lack of team identity, consistent play and clutch shooting exhibited by Diana Leighton gave the Raisins the needed stability to live up to the team's reputation as a top contender in league action. The girls finished the season maintaining their status as Frontier League Champs and Playoff Champs. They had their usual im- pressive league record of 12-3 and an overall record of 17-5. Raisins is to progress and master basic skills. They spend most practices concen- trating on developing good tech- niques to prepare them for Varsity competition. Coach Dowlearn not- ed Tracy Leighton as the most im- proved player in all areas and Cherry Valley, one of the better players, also showed a great deal of improvement. Although Coach Dowlearn says that the team record does not reflect the skills of the girls, she stresses that they need to be more serious and dedicated to the game.
