, .1 i Homecoming '78 HOMECOMING The traditional SCCS Homecoming Weekend, sponsored jointly.by the Student Council and the cheerleaders, took place on October 20-21, 1978. The festivities, which welcomed the Class of 1978 back home , began with a pep rally 8th period on Friday and a bonfire and pizza party Friday night. Saturday morning, the Seniors held a pancake breakfast and apple fest. The profit was donated to a memorial fun for Bill Seweryneuk. After a car rally, Millie Russell, SCCS Senior, was crowned by her sister Tessie, the 1977 Homecoming Queen. Following the coronation, the S CC S football team played a tough game against Beaver River. The Comets lost 8-16, mainly because the Beavers scored a touchdown in the final minutes of play. The activities of the Homecoming Weekend were concluded by a Homecoming dance on Sat- urday night, which featured the Barry James Band.
