This play, from which the musical Hello Dolly originated, takes place in late 19th century New York. Matchmaker Dolly Levi, played by MaryGrant, plots and schemes her way from Yonkers to New York City in an attempt to snare Horace Vandergelder in her web of marriage. Vandergelder, a wealthy Yonkers merchant por- trayed by John Killam, goes along with her believing he will marry a beautiful young woman concocted in the vious mind of Mrs. Levi. Finally, according to Dolly's plan, he proposes to her after having been stood up by his imag- inary fiance. d

JR.-SR. I978 BANQUET The 70th Annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held the evening of April 14, 1978, at BOCES in Mexico, New York. The theme was Pieces of April . Dick Reid was the Toastmaster. Jean Wheeler gave a Welcome to Seniors. Joe Hurd gave the Response to Juniors. Jeff Drake pre- sented a toast to Mr. Pierce: Kim Crast presented a toast to Mr. O'Sullivan, and Ernie Peter, a toast to Mr. Gilbert. Doreen Pizon then sang the theme, Pieces of April . Marvin Nemier gave the toast to the Senior Advisors, and Jacki Zahler, a toast to the Junior Ad- visors. Thenj various seniors read the class Will and Phrophesy. Lastly, Senior Class President Martha Miles presented the SPADE to Junior Class President Beth Hurd. Following the Banquet, Strom- becker-Light house played for the dance. SENIOR PRO Old days, good times I remember, sponsored by the graduating class of 1978, was held on Saturday, June 3, 1978 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the S.C.C.S. gym. The students who attended the Prom were entertained by a band from Syracuse and re- freshments were served. Tessie Russell and Russell Joss were crown- ed king and Queen. Their court included Anna Hesford, Martha Miles, Millie Rus- sell, Ernie Peter, Dick Reid, and Bill Sew- eryneuk. Mr. and Mrs. George O'Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pierce, and Mr. and Mrs. David Weaver attended the Prom as chap- erones. 9 A i X Sllllpf BM Dil X ', I-f ,X
