Dedication Mrs. Barbara Newton J :f' In honor of her 28th year of teaching at Sandy Creek Central School, it is with great pleasure that the 1985 Spade is dedicated to Mrs. Barbara Newton. Mrs. Newton began teaching at Sandy Creek in 1955. For 28 years she has taught Home Economics. With her expertise in nutrition, cooking, sewing and child care students have been able to learn skills which allow them to live as independent adults. During her years on the staff at Sandy Creek, Mrs. Newton has been a j.V. Cheerleader Advisor, an Adult Educa- tion teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, Class Advisor several times-most re- cently class of '82, a member of the Teacher's Association and consultant to many extracurricular organizations. Her desire to teach was inspired by her favorite Aunt Phillis, a Home Economics teacher, as well as by her father, a member of the Boards of Education in Cattaraugus County and at the State level. We are thankful for the inspiration they gave her and are indeed fortunate to have her here. Mrs. Newton, it is with great pride and deep respect that we, your students and friends, dedicate this yearbook to you, in recognition of your many years of guidance, patience, interest and concern for the students of Sandy Creek Central School. o Dedication
